THE Church Times Train-A-Priest (TAP) Fund appeal has been open just over a week now. Already, generous readers have contributed £10,570.82. (This is in addition to a legacy, which added almost £80,000 to the kitty last year.) Thank you.
In 2026, the TAP Fund will once again support those with a calling to serve in the Church of England. For the first time, TAP grants will be available not just to ordinands facing financial hardship, but also to people at an earlier stage of exploring their vocation. Our hope is that the availability of TAP grants will help to widen access by removing some of the barriers to participation for people from less financially secure situations.
May I encourage our readers to give as generously as possible? Every penny that you can give will go to those in need of extra support as they prepare for ministry. Nothing is retained to cover administrative expenses.
