It’s March, which means we’ve formally entered primary season ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, and there are several notable races on tap for this Tuesday, not least of which are the ones taking place in the Lone Star State.
We’ve got eyes on both the Democrat and Republican congressional primaries, as well as the state AG race, and plenty of suspense built in.
In the race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican John Cornyn, we’ve got Cornyn facing off against the state’s current attorney general, Ken Paxton, and Rep. Wesley Hunt (TX-38) in the Republican primary (along with a handful of other candidates).
And then, for the Democrats, it’s current Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX-30) versus State Rep. James Talarico.

For the House, obviously, there are multiple seats on the line. And then, for the AG’s race, we’ve got Republican Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) battling State Sen. Mayes Middleton, State Sen. Joan Huffman, and former U.S. Assistant Attorney General Aaron Reitz.
Polls close in Texas at 7:00 PM Central. We’ll be watching them here at RedState, and you can, too. We’ll bring you the live results right here, thanks to our partnership with Decision Desk HQ, so be sure to check in — and participate in the comments below.
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
