We’re in the middle of significant military action against Iran.
At a time like this, with the threats that Iran could pose, you would want our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to be at its strongest, to be able to protect us. The DHS includes things like the Secret Service, the Transportation Security Agency (TSA), the Coast Guard, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), which might be important for security.
But the DHS is under a government shutdown because the Democrats are refusing to pass their funding. They want to force the Republicans to bend to changes to ICE and other federal immigration agencies. They want to get what they want, even though they lost the election, and Trump is in charge of those agencies. So they’re trying to run over what the people voted for by holding the departments and the American people who work in them hostage. That’s all on the Democrats. They’re putting the American people at risk for the Democrat political agenda.
So when Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) attacked President Donald Trump on X and blamed him for the TSA agents not being paid, I had to do a double-take at the dishonesty of the post.
America is at war, TSA agents aren’t being paid and this guy is playing golf.

Is he joking? He voted against paying the TSA when he refused to vote to fund the DHS.

As my RedState colleague Becky Noble wrote earlier, this is not only affecting TSA paychecks but also causing long lines at airports.

So Jeffries shouldn’t be talking about Trump – he should be looking in the mirror and checking how he has voted against protecting the American people. It’s complete hypocrisy to try to lay this on Trump or the GOP.

So that’s why he’s potentially endangering Americans? Why would ICE be there unless illegal aliens were there? And why would you not want ICE to be keeping illegal aliens out of polling places? Unless you had some other reason for wanting illegal aliens at polling places, Democrats? What would that be? You keep the illegal aliens out of the polling places, and ICE doesn’t need to be there. Will the Democrats commit to that? Why are they placing illegal aliens over the American people?
It’s also a bad policy in general to put an absolute prohibition on law enforcement going anywhere.
Democrats have no shame. They were the cause of chaos against ICE, inciting people to interfere and obstruct ICE operations. They are responsible for any of the bad results from their incitement.

There’s a good reason that a new poll found that Democrats had a lower positive number than ICE. Maybe they should be doing a little more soul-searching about that, and showing a little less hypocrisy. But at this point, why would any American vote for any of these people when they don’t give a darn about our own security?
