Rule, Britannia!

From Skynews, first the good news on that Royal Navy warship,

HMS Dragon has finally left Portsmouth and is on its way to protect the UK’s airbase in Cyprus from attack.

Now the bad news,

HMS Dragon could now take anywhere between six and a half and 11 days to get to Cyprus depending on its speed and conditions in the Bay of Biscay.

Will the war still be going by then? Yesterday, pundit Richard Fernandez offered this comment,

The shocking Royal Navy debacle, though it has proved traumatizing for Britain, may in retrospect prove to be an important psychological turning point in its recovery. It may act like a kind of negative near-death experience, the vision of a void with malevolent beings grasping at Britannia, chanting evil verses; a dreadful turn that very sick people sometimes experience, which if they survive alters their remaining life completely.

I’m not counting on it.
