A man who flew to some of England’s remotest islands has claimed some of the beaches are like those in the Caribbean.

YouTuber Wendall, who posts on the video platform under his channel of the same name, flew out to the Isles of Scilly. The Isles of Scilly are made up of five inhabited islands including St Mary’s, Tresco, St Martin’s, Bryher, and St Agnes.

The Isles of Scilly are a small group of islands that lie just off the coast of Cornwall, England, and have long been known as a place of great interest and of cultural importance to the United Kingdom.

As he toured the area on a boat, Wendall asked the driver of one boat about the quality of the beaches. He remarked: “I’ve heard St Martin’s has got the nicest beaches.”

In response, the person driving the boat said: “It does have nice, golden, sandy beaches yes. Nice golden sandy beaches.” Wendall then added: “Caribbean-esque.”

Wendall isn’t the first person to comment on the Isles of Scilly’s beaches with those on Tresco’s beaches on Pentle Bay also receiving praise.

Experts from GO Outdoors recently went so far as to name those on Pentle Bay as one of the best to visit this Spring due to temperatures of around 10C and around 7.2 hours of sunshine per day.

This has been reflected in some of the Google Reviews the beach has received including from one person who said it was “one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen”. Another said that it was a “mini paradise” and a “private gem”.

Speaking about the matter, author at GO Outdoors, Calum Jones remarked: “As the days get longer and the weather warms up, spring is the perfect time to explore the stunning coastlines across the UK.

“From Druridge Bay Beach in the North East to Immeridge Bay in the South West, there are breathtaking beaches to discover all around the country.”

However, this isn’t the first time beaches in this part of the UK have been named, with those in Cornwall also receiving lots of praise, including Kynance Cove.

Just a short drive from Falmouth, the beaches there have been compared to those on the other side of the world in New South Wales, Australia.

One study, carried out by Parkdean Resorts, concluded after studying some of the UK’s best sandy beaches, that the one in Kynance Cove was the whitest beach in the UK.

They explained: “Topping the list as the UK’s whitest beach is Kynance Cove in Cornwall. This Cornish cove boasts powder-soft sands made primarily of quartz, giving the beach its bright, white appearance. “This breathtaking spot gives even Australia’s iconic coastline a run for its money.”
