“People in America and Israel think Britain is finished – and they are not entirely wrong.” So warns Melanie Phillips in our latest video. “Britain,” she says, has become a nation that “no longer knows what it is” and “no longer knows how to defend itself.” According to Phillips, decades of anti-Western education and media bias have broken the UK’s moral compass. Hence the scenes in London of crowds cheering on Hamas or mourning the Ayatollah Khamenei. And hence the rise of the Islamo-left, that bizarre suicide pact between self-styled progressives and avowed Islamist reactionaries, who bond over a shared hatred of Western civilisation. We have already fallen further than we could have ever imagined.
We all know what Phillips is talking about when she declares: “It’s not just in Britain, it’s happening in other parts of the West too.” We’ve got out own problem.
