Police have launched a probe after a man was shot in Birmingham.
A man in his 30s suffered injuries to his chest and shoulder, which were not life-changing or threatening, West Midlands Police said, after a gun was fired at the door of a property on Montgomery Street, Sparkbrook, last night (Tuesday, 26 March).
It’s believed the person who fired the gun arrived and left in a black vehicle, police also added. The force has now launched an appeal encouraging members of the public with information to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “We’re investigating after shots were fired on a street in Birmingham last night. It’s believed a gun was fired at the door of a property on Montgomery Street, at around 7.20pm.
“One man in his 30s suffered injuries to his chest and shoulder, which were not life-changing or threatening. It’s believed the person who fired the gun arrived and left in a black vehicle.
“Our Major Crime Unit is investigating, with CCTV being examined and witnesses being spoken to. Extra officers are in the area today, and we’d encourage anyone with information to get in touch via 101 or Live Chat. Quote log 4962 of 27 March.”
