Andrew warned ‘he could end up sleeping in caravan’ after provoking King Charles’s ‘anger’ | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been cautioned that he risks ending up sleeping in the caravan which was reportedly bought to accommodate his staff at Marsh Farm “if he’s not careful”, following his refusal to cut costs on his new residence.

King Charles, who pledged to make “appropriate private provision” for Andrew after he surrendered his previous residence at Royal Lodge, alongside his titles, is reportedly “angry” about his younger brother’s lavish requirements.

Among these requirements was the rehanging of curtains from Royal Lodge at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham estate, with the King footing the bill to have them modified at “considerable expense”, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Furthermore, artworks from Royal Lodge, some of which are too large for the walls in Andrew’s new property, are being repositioned by upmarket removal company, Gander and White, which charges approximately £15,000 for a team.

A source claimed the publication: “The King is angry because he doesn’t want to pay anymore than what he has already.”

Andrew is currently residing nearby at Wood Farm, and is said to be delaying his departure from the property until Marsh Farm meets his “standards”, which has also frustrated Charles, who would rather utilise the premises for Sandringham guests.

The source added: “Marsh Farm has needed rewiring and plastering and there was even talk of asbestos – it’s not in a fit state for him yet.

“Meanwhile, Andrew wants the best of everything and the process is painfully slow. But he needs to be out soon, and the King would have no qualms about pushing him out of Wood Farm if it was needed for overspill.

“Andrew might end up sleeping in that caravan if he’s not careful.”

Buckingham Palace has been contacted for a response.

Andrew has been keeping a low profile at Wood Farm on the King’s estate since his arrest on his 66th birthday, under suspicion of misconduct in a public office.

The arrest followed the disclosure of millions of pages of documents related to the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, with whom Andrew had a friendship.

The former Duke of York was questioned by police and subsequently released under investigation.

Andrew has consistently and strongly refuted any allegations of wrongdoing.
