EuroMillions was created in 2004 by France’s Française des Jeux, Spain’s Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, and the UK’s Camelot group (now Allwyn). The first draw took place on February 13, 2014 in Paris.
Originally only the UK, France, and Spain participated. By October 2004, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Switzerland had joined.
The lottery is played across nine European countries and take place every Tuesday and Friday evenings with a minimum guaranteed jackpot of €17 million, which can roll over up to a massive €250 million.
Players selects five main numbers which can be any number from one to 50. They also have to select two different lucky star numbers from a pool of 12 numbers.
