A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services responded to a report that a 30 -year-old man had been injured with a knife in Terminus Road, Eastbourne at around 7.30am on Saturday, May 3.

“The man was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

“A 20-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). They have since been released with no further action being taken and are now being treated as witnesses.

“There will be increased patrols in the area while police continue their enquiries and to provide reassurance.

“Further CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
