E-bike owners have been urged to stop using the Cowboy E Bike Model C4 ST (Edition MR) immediately due to a serious safety risk.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has announced a recall of the affected model.

The e-bike has been deemed unsafe as the welded joint between the headtube and downtube can fail.
“This could cause the frame to break, which could result in a fall and injuries to the user,” the OPSS warned.
Cowboy’s official recall notice added that “fatigue cracks” can begin to form after 2,500 km.
The affected bikes fail to comply with the durability and safety requirements of EN 15194 and pose a “serious mechanical safety risk”, the OPSS cautioned.
Officials added that the product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Owners can identify affected bikes through their serial number and frame supplier.
To check, users should tap the ‘settings’ icon in the Cowboy app, then tap ‘advanced’. If the frame is listed as ‘Edition MR’, it may be affected.
Serial numbers can also be verified via Cowboy’s official recall notice. For refunds or replacements, owners should visit the Cowboy website.
