Vindication of Liz Collin | Power Line

In the concluding installment of Liz Collin’s three-part series on the George Floyd case five years later, Minneapolis police officers speak. Liz’s video takes a look behind some of the key testimony in the case against Derek Chauvin. The officers came forward to support Liz and Alpha News in the dismissed defamation lawsuit brought by Katie Blackwell, now the assistant chief of the department. JC Chaix (also a defendant in Blackwell’s lawsuit) covers the story told in the video here.

At about 5:00 of the video, MPD Chief Brian O’Hara reveals why he has spoken up on behalf of Blackwell in pursuit of her meritless case against Liz and Alpha News. He says he’s the chief and it’s incumbent to speak up on behalf of his officers when they are inappropriately criticized. However, Blackwell has now stipulated that her case lacked any substantive merit and O’Hara has supported the charges brought by the Biden Department of Justice that his department is racist. Something doesn’t compute.

At about 18:00, Liz calls on Mayor Frey’s office. It’s almost funny.

At about 21:00, a few of the Power Point slides that attorney Chris Madel used in court on our behalf are flashed, just before video of Chris with Liz speaking in the courthouse lobby after the hearing appears. We are grateful for the outstanding work Chris did on behalf of Liz and Alpha News in Blackwell’s lawsuit. He is a gifted advocate.

At about 22:00, a clip of Jana Shortal’s interview with former MPD Chief Arrandondo appears. I’ve been wanting to ask Arradondo for a while now if he knew he was running a racist department while he served as chief. Shortal didn’t bother to ask him.

The Star Tribune is observing a George Floyd extravaganza this week. Liz and the officers who spoke up as witnesses against Blackwell in support of Liz and Alpha News are out to tell the other side of the story in this video.
