WaPo Tweet About Shooting of Israeli Embassy Staffers Leaves Jaws Dropping – RedState

There have been a lot of reactions to the depraved killing of two Israeli embassy staffers, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday by Elias Rodriguez, who shouted, “Free Palestine!”

There were some bad reactions. Some seemed to want to talk more about white nationalism or talk about how this might hurt the “pro-Palestine movement.”

Way to try to deflect from the real issue here–the hatred being stoked by the left.

There’s the “what’s the motive?” phrasing here, as though it is not already obvious.

But then there was this tweet that made me sit straight up and ask: What the heck?

The “confusion” about “where Jews belong.” What are they even saying here? That tweet is crazy, and it’s the sub-headline in the article. The fact that it made it past editors also says something that isn’t very good.

That, understandably, raised eyebrows, and the tweet is getting ripped to pieces on X.

Now, I looked at the article. I took the hit so you don’t have to. It’s not as horrible as the tweet. It has interviews/comments with some Jewish people, who say they are worried after the shooting, along with sharing concerns raised by statistics of discrimination against Jewish people going up.

But it also had this:

Hamas’s attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, Israel’s subsequent attacks on Gaza, followed by divisions around the world over what had caused the conflict and who was at fault…

Um, guys? What caused the conflict was a vicious – some might even say, genocidal – attack on Israel, where Hamas terrorists killed about 1,200 people, raped and terrorized many others, and kidnapped 251 hostages. The attack, naturally, got a response. Hamas was at fault for the attack and for everything that followed; this isn’t rocket science. Again, it’s not something about which most people are confused.

As our sister site Twitchy reported, some on X suggested that place the WaPo belongs is right in the trash. Of course, this tweet is only the latest iteration of bad takes from the WaPo and its staff.

I don’t know about “democracy dying in the darkness,” but the liberal media surely shows, once again, why they have no credibility when they put out garbage in tweet form like this.
