A wave of warm weather is set to roll across the UK this weekend, according to new weather maps. By Saturday, May 31, Netweather has forecast that temperatures are expected to climb sharply, with a peak at around 3pm. London could see highs reaching up to 27C, while many other regions will also bask in warm and sunny conditions.
Counties including Norfolk, Surrey, Kent, Essex, Sussex, and Hampshire are forecast to enjoy temperatures ranging between 23C and 26C. The warmth is expected to extend as far north as parts of Yorkshire and as far south as the Sussex coast.
The balmy conditions are predicted to begin building from Friday, May 30, with WX Charts indicating temperatures around 7pm could reach 24C in London and Kent, and around 23C in parts of the Midlands.
The Met Office‘s long range forecast from May 30 to June 8 reads: “Likely continuing changeable with further frontal systems running east into the UK bringing further spells of rain, with showery interludes in-between.
“Strong winds may also develop at times, particularly in the north and northwest.
“With time the signs are that systems will increasingly track to the northwest of the country, with the south probably starting to see longer, drier interludes while the northwest continues to see more in the way of rain and at times strong winds, Temperatures are expected to be around normal overall, but will be cooler in any prolonged periods of rainfall.
“Meanwhile there is the possibility of some very warm, perhaps hot conditions developing, especially in the south and these bring with them the chance of thunderstorms.”
