A car has rammed through the crowd at the trophy parade celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League victory.
Merseyside Police has confirmed they are attending the scene after the car collided with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.
Officers from Merseyside Police are in attendance and a police cordon has been put in place in the city centre on Dale Street and Water Street.
Eyewitnesses told GB News Liverpool Lime Street station has been shut and “[there were] tonnes of police and ambulance came rushing in, it was mad.”

A spokesman from Merseyside Police said: “We are currently dealing with reports of a road traffic collision in Liverpool city centre.
“We were contacted at just after 6pm today, Monday, May 26, following reports a car had been in collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.
“The car stopped at the scene and a male has been detained. Emergency services are currently on the scene. We will issue more updates as we have them.”
GB News understands the Prime Minister is being kept updated about the incident.
Liverpool Riverside MP Kim Johnson wrote on social media: “I sincerely hope all those involved are safe and get home to their loved ones soon.”

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “NWAS is supporting an incident in Liverpool city centre, following reports of a road traffic collision.
“We are currently assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services. Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible.
“Updates will be published on this page and Mersey Police as we know more.”
A spokesman from Liverpool City Council said: “We are currently liaising with Merseyside Police regarding an incident on Water Street in the city centre. Updates to follow.”

An eyewitness told GB News: “I saw a car ram through people and pedestrians then started banging on the car like ‘what are you doing?’
“Then the driver reversed and sped up forward and mowed down more people as pedestrians, police and ambulances started chasing after the car.
“It happened five feet away from me, I’m so grateful I managed to avoid it, terrifying to think what could have happened.”
