Nightmare Scenario Sets Up for Democrats After Latest Polling Among Hispanics – RedState

Since Donald Trump’s first run for president, he has been giving Democrats nightmares with Hispanic voters who previously had been a reliable voting bloc for the party.

Between 2016 and 2020, President Trump and the Republican Party made significant inroads among Hispanic voters over the course of several election cycles despite positions taken on border security and illegal immigration that had Democrats and their mainstream media allies (falsely) portraying him (and the GOP) as racist and anti-immigrant.

Their smear campaigns, fortunately, didn’t work, as exit polling in 2024, for instance, showed Trump receiving 46 percent of the Hispanic vote even after four years of being out of office, a number which was 14 percent higher than what he got in 2020, and which was the highest percentage on record for a Republican president.

Hispanic men have been the driving force behind the change in support for Trump, as RedState has previously reported:

And now, five months into his second term and with ICE sweeps and deportations in full effect across the country and getting a lot of attention, Democrats have continued to engage in demagoguery, painting Trump as an “authoritarian” and bad news for the Hispanic community.

Despite all of that, his approval ratings have risen significantly among this core group of voters in recent weeks, jumping to nearly 60 percent in a mid-May InsiderAdvantage poll, a 22 percent increase from their previous poll:

According to an InsiderAdvantage poll of 1,000 likely voters, 59.6 percent of Hispanics approve of Trump’s job performance while 40.4 percent disapprove.

The poll was conducted between May 17 and 19 and had a margin of error of 3.09 percent.

This is roughly a 22-percentage point increase from an earlier poll—when 1,200 likely voters were surveyed on April 30 and May 1—that found that 38.4 percent of Hispanics approved of Trump and 42 percent disapproved.

As further proof, a poll from a leftist polling outfit conducted around the same time showed similar results:

A Civiqs/Daily Kos poll, conducted between May 17 and 20 among 1,018 registered voters, showed Trump’s approval rating increasing by 15 points among Hispanic voters to 57 percent from 42 in April.

The same poll also showed 53 percent support among Hispanic voters for the way Trump was handling illegal immigration enforcement and deportations.

It’s got to be a nightmare for Democrats and the woketivist MSM to pour on the outrage over the wave of deportations of criminal illegal immigrants, and to stage events like the El Salvador stunts, only to find out that Hispanic voters by and large have not been persuaded and are, in fact, turned off by their arguments.

You love to see it. You truly do.
