Putin hit by NEW Ukraine attack as Russian bridge targeted with explosives in Kyiv offensive

Ukraine has hit a bridge linking Russia and the Crimean peninsula with underwater explosives.

The bridge is a key supply route for Russian forces into Ukraine.

No casualties have been reported, with Russia stating traffic has been temporarily suspended on the bridge.

Ukraine’s SBU security service said: “Previously, we hit the Crimean Bridge twice, in 2022 and 2023. So today we continued this tradition underwater,” adding the operation had been prepared for months.”

The SBU stated it used 1,100kg (2,420lbs) of explosives on the pillars of the bridge.

Russian authorities said on Telegram that road traffic on the bridge linking Russia and the Crimean peninsula has been halted.

In 2014, the bridge was a key target for Russian President Vladimir Putin, with it being supported by concrete stilts and consisting of a separate roadway and railway.
