In a special moment at the conclusion of the Grand Military Parade held on Saturday in Washington, D.C.–our nation’s capital– President Donald Trump led some new and reenlisting Army servicemembers in an enthusiastic swearing-in ceremony:

Pres. Trump started off by thanking the “greatest, fiercest, and bravest fighting force,” saying that the Army helps keep America “free, you make us strong,” and on Saturday, wherever they are watching from around the world, the U.S, Army “[has] made all Americans proud.”

He moved on to speak directly to our nation’s enemies, stating that any who seek to threaten Americans will find that their “downfall will be complete” at the hands of the U.S. military:

Then a representative of the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights took the stage, and presented the POTUS, now joined by First Lady Melania Trump, with the American flag that flew over Washington during the day’s celebration of the Army’s 250th birthday and parade:

Near the end of his soaring speech, President Trump told the assembled soldiers:

Down through history, we’ve been blessed beyond words by this valiant legion of Army warriors and patriots, heroes and legends.

And tonight, we affirm with unwavering certainty that in the years ahead, and in every generation hence, whenever duty calls and whatever danger comes, the American soldier will be there.

No matter the risks, no matter the obstacles, our warriors will charge into battle. They will plunge into the crucible of fire, and they will seize the crown of victory because the United States of America will always have the grace of Almighty God and the iron will of the United States Army.

Trump then congratuated the servicemembers once again, adding that “we love our country and we’ve never done better.” The capper was the singing of “God Bless the USA.”
