The Boelter case press conference

Joe Thompson is the Acting United States Attorney for Minnesota. Joe is also the chief prosecutor in the massive Feeding Our Future fraud case(s). I got to know him in the course of my coverage of the trial of Aimee Bock and Salim Said earlier this year. I came to admire him greatly and count him a friend. I am grateful that he and his office have taken up the case against Vance Boelter with the filing of federal charges today. The Department of Justice has posted a press release on the case here.

Joe called a press conference along with his colleagues in state and federal law enforcement to announce the charges and provide related information. I have posted video of the press conference below. I hear Joe speaking as the voice of decent Minnesota in his comments. He condemns the assassination of Rep. Hortman and the attempted assassination of Senator Hoffman as an attack on our political system and our way of life. As he rightly puts it, the case is “the stuff of nightmares.” Joe certainly speaks for me. I thought some readers might find video of the press conference of interest.

I have also embedded the federal complaint and supporting affidavit below via Scribd.
