MSNBC and CNN have been caught labeling the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles “largely or mostly peaceful” and downplaying the chaos and violence a whopping 211 times since they started Friday, June 6.
According to a new study from the Media Research Center, analysts watched coverage on both networks from June 7- June 11, finding more than 200 examples in primetime of when reporters, guests, and or anchors labeled the rioters attacking law enforcement, burning cars, and blocking the freeways as “peaceful,” or something similar.

The report then broke the numbers down by the networks, finding MSNBC responsible for the gaslighting 88 times compared to CNN, which was responsible for making the false claims 123 times.
During the first weekend of the riots, both CNN and MSNBC, of course, invited numerous Democratic officials to speak about what we were witnessing on our televisions, with many claiming the riots were “mostly peaceful.” But at the end of that week and into the next, it was journalists they found who started repeating the false claim, even as images of violence and looting were shown on the screen.
As the MRC report noted, reporters performed verbal gymnastics to try to label the few bad actors as just that — a small number — while claiming the “majority” out there were peaceful.
“There are agitators, of course, in every crowd, but most of the crowds that I saw, that I spoke to… these are peaceful people.”

At the same time, journalists who tried to provide cover for the rioters refused to acknowledge the reason President Donald Trump called in the National Guard to deal with the violence we were seeing on screen.

It is not surprising that with all the gaslighting Americans have experienced, from the origin of COVID to former President Joe Biden’s mental decline, networks like CNN and MSNBC’s decision to continue lying is a prime reason they are struggling, as RedState reported.

CNN has “tears on the horizon” after Warner Bros. Discovery announced last week that it will split into two companies by separating its studios and streaming business from cable TV networks, according to media insiders.
The corporate split, which is expected to be completed by mid-2026, will have significant ramifications for CNN, which is being treated as a declining asset that weighed down WBD’s shinier businesses.
The report added that, according to an insider:
“It’s not just the overpriced talent. It’s the overpriced producers. The overpriced executives. The superfluous reporters who barely are on the air. All will either be exited or forced to take massive pay cuts,” the media insider said.
