Migrant crime: Foreign nationals commit one-in-five child sex abuse cases

One-in-five child sex offence convictions involve foreign nationals, data shared with GB News has revealed.

Despite making up just 10.9 per cent of the population in England and Wales, foreign nationals were massively overrepresented in data obtained from the Ministry of Justice by Rupert Lowe’s Rape Gang Inquiry through a Freedom of Information request.

Almost a fifth of sexual offences involving children – 17 per cent – were committed by foreign nationals.

Of the 4,278 sexual offence convictions relating to child abuse across 23 offence categories — including “sexual grooming,” “sexual assault of a female child under 13,” and “rape of a female child under 13 by a male” — 2,652 (83 per cent) were committed by individuals identified as British nationals.

Of those convicted, 74 per cent were recorded as “White British”, with the remainder identified under ethnic classifications such as “Pakistani” and “African”.

GB News can also reveal that the data suggests that although the “White British” population of England and Wales stands at 74.4 per cent, child sex offence convictions among that demographic stood at 62 per cent.

Speaking to GB News, Independent MP Rupert Lowe claimed: “As the Casey report showed, the rape gang scandal is something which is disproportionately perpetrated by males of Pakistani origin, asylum seekers and foreign nationals.

“More needs to be done to extract and publish data that reveals the true scale and nature of this coverup and that is what we at the Rape Gang Inquiry are working to achieve.

“This data shows that the white British population are vastly underrepresented in the crime stats when compared to those of other ethnicities and nationalities.”

The Great Yarmouth MP added: “Not a single foreign national should be in our country and engaging in the rape of British children, anyone convicted of such an offence should be deported without a second thought.”

In addition, 339 convictions were linked to individuals confirmed as foreign nationals, while a further 381 involved persons of “unknown” nationality — many of whom are likely to be foreign-born.

Taken together, up to 17 per cent of child sexual assault convictions were attributed to foreign nationals, with a further 21 per cent involving individuals of non-white British ethnic backgrounds, despite holding British nationality.

Responding to the findings, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: “This report lays bare the horror of the level of offending by foreign nationals.

“As Louise Casey made clear in her report, a significant proportion of rape gang perpetrators were asylum seekers or foreigners.

“The Government needs to urgently get a grip of our border security. More illegal immigrants have entered the UK across the channel so far this year than any year in history. Yvette Cooper is failing to protect our borders and our citizens.”

Philp added: “Every single foreign criminal should be deported – and we should repeal the Human Rights Act for immigration matters to ensure these criminals are always kicked out – and can’t make spurious human rights claims to enable them to stay.”

Lee Anderson, Reform UK Chief Whip, also told GB News: “If you needed further proof that we are not taking the very best, here it is. Foreign countries are essentially dumping their rubbish in the UK.

“This is the direct result of years of weak policy and political cowardice. Only Reform UK is treating this crisis with the seriousness it demands — as the invasion it so clearly is.”

Anderson also confirmed Reform UK will leave the European Convention on Human Rights in order to facilitate the deportation of migrant criminals.

He added: “We will leave the ECHR, deport all foreign criminals, and protect our towns and cities from gangs of young men who do not assimilate, do not respect our values, and pose a growing threat to public safety.”

GB News has approached the Home Office for comment.
