Eric Swalwell is one of the most despicable people in public life. So, if I had seen this video without knowing who was promoting it, Swalwell’s name may well have come to mind. It is both false and offensive, but those characterizations don’t begin to convey its awfulness:

So Swalwell should be condemned by all decent people. But this is what I want to know: Is there a single Democrat who has condemned Swalwell for promoting this video? Is there one Democrat who has defended the federal employees who work for ICE against these outrageous smears? How about those “centrist” Democrats that we are always hearing about? Have any of them spoken up to reject these absurdities?
I don’t know who came up with the formula, “No enemies to the left.” But it certainly describes contemporary American liberals. Whether we are talking about violent Central American gang members, rioters in Los Angeles, or purveyors of filth like Eric Swalwell, “centrist” Democrats are happy to use their party’s left flank as shock troops, for whatever value they may deliver. The idea that there is any separation, intellectual or otherwise, between the Democratic Party’s crazies and its “moderates” is a myth.
