President Trump could write a book on The Art of the Troll. However, there is a serious point here. Early yesterday morning in “The Trump card” I commented on Trump’s speech announcing our bombing of three of the Iranian regime’s nuclear sites:
In substance the president is calling on the Iranian regime to right itself. That is not going to happen. It will remain “the bully of the Middle East” predicated on “death to America, death to Israel.” These are something like the founding principles of the regime.
The logic of our attack last night would culminate in the fall of the regime. I’m not saying it’s going to happen. I’m not saying it should happen. But the nature of the regime will not change. It is ideologically murderous and genocidal. The tiger will not change his stripes. The Supreme Leader, whoever he is, will seek to finish Hitler’s job.
Yesterday afternoon Trump seconded the idea of “regime change” in the tweet quoted below by Brent Scher (and many others). It seems to me that Trump perfectly understands what I refer to as “the logic of our attack.”
Man, is Trump good at pushing the buttons of his critics.
Important to note here, Trump isn't calling for U.S.-driven regime change. Obviously he and everyone else with a functioning brain wants the evil Iranian regime to fall and change. This is not a game-changing statement. pic.twitter.com/wdaPBBZVci
