If you’re planning to watch Jake Paul take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. this weekend, you’ll must set a very early alarm on Sunday morning.
That’s because the cruiserweight bout takes place on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, USA, which means we won’t see the YouTuber-turned-boxer enter the ring until roughly 4am BST on Sunday June 29 in this country. Ouch.
You can access the Pay-Per-View stream via specialist sports streamer DAZN. The event itself starts at 1am BST, featuring a stacked undercard including Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez defending his WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles against Yuniel Dorticos.
Jake Paul returns to the ring for the first time since his controversial victory over Mike Tyson in November, whilst former WBC middleweight champion Chavez Jr seeks to build on his July 2024 win over Uriah Hall. This promises to be the toughest challenge yet for the YouTube superstar.

Ring Walk timings in the US and UK
The main event ring walks are scheduled for approximately 8pm in California, which means you’ll need to set an alarm clock for roughly 4am BST on Sunday morning (11pm ET/8pm PT on Saturday).
The preliminary card begins at 1am BST, with the main card starting at approximately 2am BST.
Paul’s boxing journey has seen him compile an 11-1 record since turning professional in 2020, with his sole defeat coming against Tommy Fury in February 2023. His November victory over 58-year-old Mike Tyson drew criticism, with Paul admitting he held back during the bout that reportedly earned him $40 million.
“I’m going against a former champion who conman Canelo couldn’t finish,” Paul stated at the press conference, where he placed a sign reading “I will be getting knocked out” in front of Chavez Jr.
Chavez Jr, 39, brings a 54-6-1 record and hasn’t scored a knockout since November 2020. The former WBC middleweight champion suffered a surprising decision loss to Anderson Silva in 2021 but rebounded with victories in his last two outings, including a unanimous decision over Uriah Hall last July.

What’s at stake?
For Jake Paul, victory could fast-track him towards a title shot or the mega-fight with Canelo Alvarez he’s been pursuing. Speaking ahead of the fight, Oscar De La Hoya told talkSPORT that victory could see Jake Paul be named “the real deal”.
De La Hoya said: “I commend Jake Paul for what he’s done from the start [and] how serious he takes boxing inside the ring. When he trains… this guy is probably the hardest worker in the game today. He has to prove himself from the back of the bunch and work himself up, and that’s exactly what he’s doing.
“Now, he’s fighting Julio Cesar Chavez who is a real fighter – he’s been a world champion. Canelo [Alvarez] couldn’t knock him out! I am banking on if Jake Paul knocks out Julio Cesar Chavez – what are we doing?! Jake Paul, I feel, is the real deal, and I’m not just saying that because we’re working together and we’ve teamed up.
“I feel that Jake Paul beating Chavez Jr is a huge step towards that world title that he wants, and it’s not far-fetched.”
WBC middleweight champion Julio Chavez Jr. is the son of legendary three-division superstar Julio Cesar Chavez. But despite that Hall of Fame lineage, the 39-year-old Mexican has had just one fight since 2021.
“Now I’m disciplined, I’m focused, I want to finish the fight with Paul with a win and take this opportunity to be back in real boxing,” Julio Chavez Jr. told reporters.
The Mexican veteran dismissed Paul as “not a good boxer” and vowed to expose him, whilst wearing a shirt that read “He’s my dad… and I’m your daddy” at the tense press conference in California earlier in the week.
