A man has been found dead in woodland in Oxford. Police officers were seen heading into woods in Headington, and a number of Thames Valley Police cars were spotted in the area. A local said: “I’ve heard lots of sirens. I want to know if I am safe, as I live only a few minutes from there.” Another resident who lives locally saw blue lights and police tape “everywhere” in the area earlier today, and emergency service vehicles have been present for several hours, the Oxford Mail reported.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police, said: “At around 8.50am this morning (30/6) officers were called by a member of the public to Woodland near Atkyns Road, Oxford to report of a deceased man. The man’s next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
