Unexpected popularity | Power Line

Few headlines have the power to shock. From The Hill newspaper,

Republicans in Congress see highest approval rating in more than a decade: Poll.

Wut? And by “more than a decade,” they mean “ever,” as this poll has been measuring the subject only since 2011. Still, nothing to brag about,

In the survey, conducted in late June, 36 percent of registered voters approve of the job Republicans in Congress are doing — the highest level recorded since pollsters began asking the question in 2011.

So, that means the poll was taken before Senate passage of the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Most people tend to like their local congressperson, but few like the more abstract concept of “Congress.” Now at a record 36 percent high, the record low stands at 19 percent from August 2015.

Democrats currently stand at 27 percent approval in that some poll.

Add these data points to the numbers for Right Track/Wrong Track polling, which continue to be underwater, but show huge improvement since Trump 2.0 began in January.

From Rasmussen, Pres. Trump’s approval rating continues to hold steady in the green at 51-47.
