Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves have been branded the “worst political double act in history” as Kelvin MacKenzie claimed Britain is “done for”.
Speaking to GB News, the former Editor of The Sun delivered his scathing verdict of the Prime Minister’s first year in power, claiming the nation is in a “shocking position”.
As Labour marks its first year in Government, Starmer’s string of U-turns and the Chancellor’s economic policies have sent them plummeting in popularity.
According to the most recent opinion polls, Labour are averaging at just 24 per cent among voters.

Delivering his verdict on Labour’s tenure so far, Kelvin told GB News: “Starmer was right in one respect, things have got worse. We are in a shocking, shocking position now where we have a Prime Minister whose own side don’t can’t even stand him.
“Every time he proposes a cut from now onwards, he’s never going to get it through.”
Expressing concern for the economic impact on Britons, MacKenzie added: “He’s going to take money off the middle classes effectively, because they’re the only people who’ve got any money, the wealthy have all buggered off and the skint haven’t got any.
“So I’m afraid we are done for. We’re going to watch four years of basically Labour MPs saying no and looking out the window and Starmer joining them.”

Keir Starmer marks his first year in power todayPAReflecting on Rachel Reeves’s tearful appearance in the House of Commons on Wednesday, MacKenzie claimed that he “felt sorry” for her, but claimed she “doesn’t deserve” to survive in Government another four years.
MacKenzie told the GB News panel: “I actually felt quite sorry for her about dropping a tear, but why didn’t the great Prime Minister say something? He is literally two inches from her!”
“If he can’t spot his Chancellor weeping, then what chance has he got? He doesn’t even know that out there, there are millions weeping at his Government.”
Defending Starmer, host Miriam Cates argued that others in the Chamber should have “noticed and escorted her out”, and it was not the job of the Prime Minister to act.

Miriam explained: “When you’re in the House of Commons, it’s an incredibly noisy place. There are people who are deliberately trying to distract you, it’s Prime Minister’s questions, it’s the most focused point of the week for him.
“I fully understand why he didn’t act. People around her should have noticed and should have escorted her out. But I don’t think in that situation, it was the Prime Minister’s responsibility at all because she should never have come into the Chamber.”
In a direct criticism of Reeves and Starmer, MacKenzie branded the political duo the “worst double act in political history”.
MacKenzie fumed: “Is it now time for her to go? Is it time for Starmer to go? This must be the worst double act in political history.
“In one year, not only have they cratered their own party, they’ve actually spawned as we speak tonight, another party.”
