The official White House account tweeted this, and it was retweeted by President Trump:
THE SYMBOL OF HOPE.
TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY.

As you no doubt are aware, a new “Superman” movie is being released. Director James Gunn appears to be pitching the movie’s perspective as anti-Trump. He says Superman is an “immigrant.” This is bizarre: Superman isn’t an immigrant, he is an alien from another planet. He was raised in America and has never lived anywhere else on Earth.
Most notably, of course, Superman for many years stood for “truth, justice and the American way.” Superman was conceived as a patriot, but the producers of the current film wouldn’t dream of mentioning the American way; certainly not in any positive manner. That is the point of the White House Superman graphic. Trump represents the original, patriotic version of the Man of Steel–a defender of the American way.
And that is the stark division between the parties. When Superman was launched in 1938, both parties believed in the American way. Now, Republicans believe in the American way, but Democrats don’t.
