CIA Director John Ratcliffe held little back in his assessment of the “Durham Annex,” labeling former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s role in trying to frame President Trump in the Russia collusion hoax as “the greatest scandal of a lifetime.”
Ratcliffe made the comments during an interview with Fox News host Trey Gowdy on “Sunday Night in America.”
The two discussed the famed annex – a declassified report detailing an alleged Clinton campaign plan to link Trump to Russia under false pretenses – at length, and what may be coming next in the investigation into the hoax.
Ratcliffe revealed that he and FBI Director Kash Patel “will be declassifying additional documents that showed just how sinister the FBI was in amplifying Hillary Clinton’s Steele dossier as real and credible to be included in the intelligence community assessment.”
“There will be more to come,” he vowed. “And I think that people should expect that the Trump administration will continue to shed transparency, and light, and truth.”
“There is no question: This was the greatest political scandal of our lifetime,” he added, calling it a “stain on our country that should never happen again.”

Gowdy went on to suggest the stain was even more far-reaching than one could imagine, labeling it “generational damage” due to what was “done to the trust Americans place in the people we put in power.”
Ratcliffe concurred, noting the FBI “buried” intelligence from foreign intelligence services “that one U.S. presidential candidate was trying to frame another candidate for treason, claiming that he was an agent of a foreign power, an agent of Russia,” and they hid it from congressional investigators. And, by extension, they hid it from the American people.
Patel, upon release of “smoking gun evidence” buried in the Durham annex, said it showed “the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax.”
“The Russia hoax was a disgrace that President Trump and our country should’ve never been put through. This should be a step toward justice,” he wrote on X.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard late last month released further evidence purporting to show the Obama administration’s direct involvement in the 2016 post-presidential election Russia hoax.
Gabbard described the plot as the “most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history” while declassifying a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report.
President Trump, in no uncertain terms, has declared Obama’s actions in driving the Russia hoax “treason.”
“If you look at that, those papers, they have him stone cold. And it was President Obama,” Trump told reporters.
“Look, he’s guilty. It’s not a question. I like to say, let’s give it time, but it’s there; he’s guilty. They … this was treason, this was every word you can think of.”
Clinton’s role, according to Ratcliffe, was just as significant. She was, after all, the beneficiary of media reports generated from the false information that repeatedly portrayed Trump as having been installed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“They just spent the next few years really amplifying the lie of Hillary Clinton’s Steele Dossier and burying the truth of her plan to frame Donald Trump,” he said. “It is the greatest political scandal that will hopefully be the last that we’ll see in our lifetime.”
Fantastic, of course. Now, let’s see some charges, some accountability commensurate with “the greatest political scandal.”
