Active Shooter at Emory University, Suspect Reportedly ‘Down’ – RedState

Emory University in Georgia posted an online message late Friday that there’s an active shooter at the college, warning students to “shelter in place.”

“Emory Emergency: Active shooter on Emory Atlanta Campus at Emory Point CVS. RUN, HIDE, FIGHT. Avoid the area. Continue shelter in place. Police on scene,”  a second post read.

The New York Post reported that in a video online, multiple rounds of gunfire could be heard.

A rapid barrage of gunfire can be heard in horrifying social media videos as police and first responders raced to the scene.  In one video filmed by a nearby resident, eight gunshots ring out, followed by a brief pause, then more than a dozen pop in rapid succession.

Georgia Rep. Mike Collins (R) wrote on X, “Students at Emory please take cover.”

Another person reported that the suspect was reportedly “down.”

“BREAKING: The Emory University Atlanta shooter is reportedly ‘DOWN,’ per radio traffic. It is NOT known how many casualties there are yet. Keep praying!”

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
