Talking about Tucker et al., etc.

Michael Doran is a Hudson Institute fellow, former Bush administration official, and non-Jewish student of American foreign policy. I have learned much from his occasional writings over the past 10-plus years on matters related to American Middle East foreign policy.

In the Tikvah podcast below — here I am paraphrasing Mosaic senior editor Andrew Koss’s summary of the podcast — Doran discusses the explosion of anti-Semitism since October 7 not just from the radical, progressive left, but also from elements of the hard right—especially among YouTubers, podcasters, and other online figures, of whom Tucker Carlson is the most prominent and the closest to the mainstream. While some of these individuals have shockingly large followings, Koss adds, polls continue to show that Republicans overwhelmingly support Israel.

Toward the end of the podcast, I especially enjoyed Doran’s brief account of what he learned about the wisdom of Wisconsin farmers while working for Scott Walker’s presidential campaign way back when. If you share my interest (concerns) in the emergence of anti-Semitism in public life, you may find this of interest. If not: Horseman, pass by!
