Whether it is the redistricting battle ongoing in Texas, the battles that California and Indiana have mounted, or the Department of Justice launching a campaign to clean up the voter rolls across the country, the next election is top of mind in the nation’s capital and the state capitals. However, where it is not top of mind is with voters: the ones who can do the most to enact critical change needed to clean up voter rolls and strengthen election integrity from top to bottom. On Monday, President Donald Trump announced he would be signing an executive order that would prohibit mail-in ballots and voting machines in the run-up to the 2026 midterm elections.

DOJ: Enormous Voter Roll Cleanup Soon to Begin
In this Truth Social post Monday, Trump promised:

Kimberly Patterson Butler is a former Alabama state representative candidate who partners with Cause for America as an election integrity team leader. Butler is encouraged that President Trump has given election integrity and voter fraud a bigger megaphone, but she wishes he had de-emphasized the federal government’s role in this matter, let alone any political party. “It both helps and hurts that Trump is chiming in. Trump’s action brings visibility, but real change won’t come from executive orders alone. Lasting reform happens when we change laws and processes in our districts and states,” Butler opined.
It is the individual citizen at the grassroots level who has the power and the flexibility to combat election fraud, which is not necessarily enacted through large-scale manipulation, but through manipulations at the municipal, county, and state levels. Case in point: Hamtramck, MI City Councilman Abu Musa, who was caught red-handed stuffing a ballot drop-off box days before his municipal primary. As it says in the biblical allegory “Song of Songs,” it’s the little foxes that destroy vineyards.

In Butler’s 2022 race for state representative, she missed the runoff against the top vote-getting candidate by only 14 votes, partly due to an error made after state redistricting, where a large number of people were coded as residing in one district, when the redistricted map showed they lived in Butler’s district. So, those voters’ ballots reflected a person who was not their true representative. Butler further said that Trump’s “move should not be an excuse for us to sit back. It’s a call for each of us to step up. I hope people understand that they have both the responsibility and the authority to accomplish this change.”
Which is why Butler is passionate about working with “Cause for America” and Dr. Douglas Frank, who is traveling across the country to mobilize citizens to take back control of their elections. Cause for America was launched by My Pillow’s Mike Lindell after the mess that was the 2020 elections. The organization seeks to enable, facilitate and support citizen grassroots action to restore trust in elections, especially at the local and state level. Dr. Frank is a physicist by training, who specializes in surface-electroanalytical chemistry, and he has quite the pedigree: 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications in the world’s leading scientific journals and a Nobel prize nomination to name just a few. But what started as a COVID hobby of modeling the direction of the virus using census data as its basis has turned into a new career and mandate: to enact election reform by mobilizing grassroots teams across the United States to hunt down and root out those little foxes destroying the vineyards of election integrity.
In a Thursday presentation in Huntsville, AL, Dr. Frank was blunt:
We know there’s still lots of fraud around the country. The simple explanation [in 2024] is Kamala was a dud and they didn’t, they didn’t turn out for her, and we were given a miracle, I think.
We can’t count on a miracle in 2026.
Since 2020, Dr. Frank has been a hard-working modelist, diving deep into the voter and census rolls in 48 states. He has been dubbed the “Johnny Appleseed of Election Integrity” because he is spreading seeds of change in our voting systems by activating the grassroots to see things differently and act accordingly.
In his presentation, Dr. Frank discussed how he moved from tracking and modeling COVID data to tracking and modeling voting data. He also discussed how his eyes were opened to the fact that election integrity is not a Democrat- or a Republican-led issue, but a citizen-led one. Dr. Frank had a rude awakening when he discovered that local and state government officials are too invested in the status quo, so they have no desire to see change happen. This was clearly evident in Pennsylvania when State Senator Doug Mastriano (R) called for an audit of Pennsylvania voting data from the 2020 elections. Dr. Frank said:
Doug Mastriano got up and said, we’re going to do an audit in the state of Pennsylvania. And I’m going to tell you something behind the scenes.
The reason he was calling for an audit is because President Trump needed one state to decertify the election. That’s all he needed [in order to] nullify the national election in 2020; [This was] December 2020. By the way, why do I bring up this topic? [Mastriano] is a Republican in a Republican-majority legislature state. He’s a war hero.
What did the legislature in Pennsylvania, the Republican majority legislature, what did they do to him in gratitude for him calling for an audit? They took away his staff, they took away his office, they took away his committees. I don’t know if they might have taken away his parking spot. They knew they took him off everything in the legislature. And so, one of the things that was a big lesson for me, and I’m going to kind of chase on this one, is when I first started this work, I thought Republicans must be good. Democrats must be bad. And that is completely the wrong way to think.
Dr. Frank made the point that just because it’s a red state, it doesn’t mean it’s a good state in terms of rooting out fraud and restoring integrity. Often it is the polar opposite. Despite its piss-poor leadership, grassroots activists in blue-state California are analyzing their data and taking up the cause of bringing their elections back in line to county control. But red states like Alabama, with a number of active citizens invested in a return to constitutional governance, can still lead the way.
Dr. Frank continued,
One of the most corrupt states in the country is Kentucky. They have 105 percent of their people registered. Oregon is a blue state. They have 105 percent of their people registered. Red and blue doesn’t matter. The problem is whoever is in control likes it and is keeping it that way.
The real problem is that in every state in America, the elections are now centrally controlled.
Dr. Frank continued to use Pennsylvania as an example to show that voter rolls are no longer controlled by the county or even by the state. Whether ERIC (Electronic Registration Information Center) or AVID (Alabama Voter Information Database), parties beyond the county registrars are the ones controlling and manipulating the data.
ERIC is a nonprofit organization that assists its members in maintaining accurate voter rolls by reviewing data provided by the states.
“Funded and governed by member states, ERIC is the most effective tool available to help election officials maintain accurate voter rolls. Using ERIC, members also provide voter registration information to potentially eligible individuals,” said Shane Hamline, the organization’s executive director.
In terms of 2020 in Pennsylvania, Dr. Frank and the state’s IT team discovered who exactly had access to the state’s voter rolls. Dr. Frank related this story.
And so the IT guys were scanning the whole rest of the state of Pennsylvania, and what did we find? There were 32, at least, other NGOs, non-government organizations that had back-end access to the voter rolls. This was happening all over the place. It wasn’t just in Montgomery County. What was happening was local NGOs, Lutheran Relief Services, Catholic Relief Services, Black Lives Matter, all these NGOs is that they had back-end access to the voter rolls. All this money was flowing through USA and Soros and CTCL money, Center for Tech and Civic Life, and Superbox. All that money was flowing back into the counties through these NGOs. And those, they were logging into the rolls, adding back in former presidents in the 31st, and stuck in ballots using those names. You following me? That’s an important story for you to understand. If you understand that, you understand what’s wrong with our elections.
So, as Kimberly Patterson Butler affirmed, President Trump was good to give election integrity a bigger spotlight, but that spotlight is useless if the expectation is that the government will take care of it, or if the focus is on one aspect of the process, like paper ballots or machine counting.
Dr. Frank blew these arguments out of the water, saying:
A lot of people will say to me, well, gee, Dr. Frank, we don’t trust the election, so we want to do a recount. So I always tell people who want to do recounts, say, it doesn’t matter how many times you count the cash in the register. It doesn’t matter whether you count it by hand or count it on my machine. What matters is how many of the bills are counted.
The problem is you have 50,000 ballots stuffed from non-real voters. That’s your problem. Do you remember hearing when they arrested the USPS driver coming from New York bringing 200,000 ballots into Pennsylvania? That’s just the guy they caught. What about all the others that they didn’t catch? In other words, this is a complicated problem. There isn’t just one solution. You don’t just get rid of the machines. You don’t just have paper counts. There are a whole bunch of issues associated with this. All of these issues are resolved if you will do one thing, and that is take back local control of your elections.
Dr. Frank has modeled the voter rolls in all 50 states and has traveled to 48 states to share this message and rally citizens for this grassroots movement.
I’m bringing in the wisdom that I’ve learned the hard way in all the other places I’ve been working, he said.
You have to bring the elections back under your eyeballs. You have to count the ballots with your hands. If you want, you can count them with machines. I don’t care, as long as you do it with your machines in your way. You can use jelly beans, as far as I’m concerned, as long as everything’s logical or transparent and nothing happens until after the polls close.
A huge undertaking at best, but Dr. Frank and Cause for America are activating Americans in their hometowns to show them how it can be done from the ground up.
