(LifeSiteNews) – A Center for Family and Human Rights (C-FAM) report published last week revealed that the far-left United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into sexually explicit and pro-LGBT programs, brochures, and content for underage children.
C-FAM’s August 22 report, detailed how, despite its purported mission to protect vulnerable children, UNICEF has funded dozens of Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE) programs and sexually explicit websites for mostly underage children that encourage them to “explore their sexuality,” as well as promote masturbation, homosexuality, and gender ideology. In recent years, UNICEF has come under fire for downplaying the effects of pornography on children.

Ukrainian CSE programs
A series of brochures for CSE programs launched in Ukraine for 15-18 year-olds in 2024 entitled “Your Guide to Adulthood Without Secrets” claims that homosexuality is “normal.”
“An important aspect of your sexuality is your sexual orientation, which is your romantic and/or sexual attraction to people of a certain gender,” the brochure states. “Some people are attracted to people of the opposite gender, and they are heterosexual. Some people are attracted to people of the same gender, and they are homosexual (gays and lesbians).”
“It is normal to feel sympathy or attraction to members of your own or the opposite sex,” the brochure continued.

The same brochure goes on to suggest that masturbation is “perfectly acceptable” and even encourages this self-abuse during relationships.
“Masturbation is perfectly acceptable in relationships, both alone and with partners. It is part of healthy sexual behavior,” it said.
However, the Catholic Church declares that such acts are “intrinsically and gravely disordered.” “The deliberate use of the sexual faculty, for whatever reason, outside of marriage is essentially contrary to its purpose,” the Church teaches.
“For here sexual pleasure is sought outside of ‘the sexual relationship which is demanded by the moral order and in which the total meaning of mutual self-giving and human procreation in the context of true love is achieved,’” the Catechism states.
The brochure gets increasingly graphic, describing anal and oral sex acts as completely acceptable acts for teenage children to engage in.
Another brochure for children aged 10-14 says that “nontraditional” sexual “orientations,” such as homosexuality, are just as natural as heterosexuality.
“(P)hrases like ‘traditional or nontraditional orientation’ are incorrect. You cannot point out to people their ‘rightness’ or “wrongness.’ All types of sexual orientation are natural,” the brochure says.
The literature goes on to suggest that the children discuss their “preferred sexual practices” with their unmarried partner, and, like the other brochure, encourages masturbation.
However, the CSE programs fail to mention that homosexuality, in addition to contradicting the natural purpose of sexuality – procreation – is linked to a nearly 30-times higher risk of HIV and a 17-times higher rate of anal cancer, as well as elevated risks of other cancers, STDs, and disorders.
“The sexually active homosexual population suffers disproportionally from HIV, anal cancer, chlamydia trachomatis, cryptosporidium, microsporidia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, hepatitis B and C, genital warts, scabies, HPV, and other conditions,” Catholic pro-family organization Fieles a la Verdad has noted. “As a result, the average life expectancy of sexually active homosexual males is reduced by many years.”
Explicit ‘Laaha’ website
C-Fam’s report further reveals that UNICEF supported the creation of Laaha, a website that promotes information about sexuality to women and girls, particularly on so-called “sexual taboos.” The site, which can be easily accessed by girls of all ages, features a podcast that encourages young girls to touch their private body parts, among other graphic webpages.
Pro-LGBT ‘International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education’
In 2009, UNICEF co-published the “International Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education,” which not only features several graphic “learning objectives” for children as young as five but also indoctrinates them into LGBT ideology.
One such learning objective for 9–12-year-old children asks them to “explain how someone’s gender identity may not match their biological sex.” Another for children aged 5–8 asks that they “reflect on how they feel about their biological sex or gender,” which seems to be asking them to think about whether they’re happy identifying as their sex.

Another objective in the curriculum asks kids between 12 and 15 years old to “Recognize that puberty may be particularly challenging for some children, particularly those who are gender ‘non-conforming, transgender or intersex.’” Finally, one for teens aged 15-18 asks that they “analyze social norms that contribute to homophobia and transphobia and their consequences.”

UNICEF’s previous denial of dangers of pornography exposure to children
UNICEF has a long history of pivoting from its mission to protect vulnerable children by creating sexually graphic material for children. In 2021, the organization published a report that falsely suggested there is no conclusive evidence that exposure to pornography is harmful to children. That report was later withdrawn after significant backlash.
