Pope Leo publishes first book since election, ‘Let There Be Peace!’

(LifeSiteNews) — Pope Leo XIV has signed the release of his first book as Pontiff on the theme of peace.

The Vatican’s publishing house, Libreria Editrice Vaticana, released the new book yesterday: Let There Be Peace! Words to the Church and the World is a collection of the Pope’s addresses and letters in the initial months after having being elected to the supreme office in the Catholic Church.

The 160-page volume, available in English, Italian, and Spanish, compiles Leo’s earliest addresses, including his balcony greeting from St. Peter’s Basilica on the night of his election, catecheses, and meetings with clergy and faithful to draw together his repeated calls for peace and “through which we can better understand the Pontiff through his own words.” The Vatican publisher distilled the contents of the book as emphasizing “the primacy of God, communion in the Church, the search for peace.”

And Let There Be Peace! collects his first speeches: an invitation to start anew from peace, inside and outside the Church,” the publishing house wrote on X.

According to Vatican News, the volume “provides a deeper understanding of the Pope’s thinking” in which Leo’s desire for the Church is made clear: “a united Church, a sign of unity and communion, which becomes a leaven for a reconciled world.”
