Anti-SemitismConservatismFeaturedTucker Carlson

A message to Kevin D. Roberts, Ph.D.

Michael Doran efficiently demonstrates three qualities of Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts’s diehard defense of the think tank’s relationship with Tucker Carlson in a few short paragraphs on X: Roberts’s statement is dishonest, bigoted, and stupid.

The guy leading one of America’s preeminent conservative think tanks is unfit for the job. As it turns out, Roberts’s statement may have served a constructive pupose in making that clear.

In the Wall Street Journal this morning historian Dominc Green steps back to take a look at the big picture: “The MAGA Right’s Antisemitism Problem.” Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Kevin Roberts serve as his case in point. Green’s case poses a question to J.D. Vance: Where do you stand, Mr. Vice President? Let’s hear it.

Power Line reader David Norris heard directly from “Kevin D. Roberts, Ph.D.” via email on Thursday. Roberts solicited Mr. Norris to “activate [his] Leaders Club membership” in Heritage with a contribution “right now.”

Mr. Norris bluntly responded Bottom Line Up Front (“BLUF”), with a touch of mockery aimed at Roberts’s “Ph.D.” Mr. Norris drew on the long-running web comic strip Piled High and Deeper (“PhD Comics”) for his salutation. In his PPS Mr. Norris mocks Roberts’s email salutation “Dear Fellow Conservative.”

Mr. Norris copied us and Eve Barlow on his message. With his permission, I’m posting Mr. Norris’s response to Roberts below:

* * * * *

Dear Kevin D. Roberts (“Piled Higher and Deeper”),

BLUF: 1) Please lose my email address; and 2) Go straight to hell.

The Heritage Foundation will never, ever, get so much as a plugged nickel from this staunch conservative as long as it’s being led by someone as morally bankrupt and cowardly as you’ve recently shown yourself to be.

The very act of writing this email is entirely out of character for me in that I’ve always been a behind-the-scenes type observer/voter who never comments online or takes the time to write emails such as this. That said, there comes a time in every man’s life when he must take a moral stand publicly on an issue of great import. I see you’ve also taken a public stand on the same issue I’m writing about herein but have, in the words of Scott Johnson at Power Line, “chosen poorly.”

Just so you know, I am not Jewish. I’m an American (admittedly not-very-religious) Christian and adamantly unwavering supporter and admirer of Israel, which I suppose makes me a Zionist of whatever sort.

I’m not on X or any other social media platform for that matter, for both sanity’s and time’s sake, but I watched the carefully crafted video statement you posted on X concerning the blatantly antisemitic Tucker Carlson and the even more vile Nick Fuentes, and I found it to be an utterly sickening stream of putrid, pusillanimous nonsense. And by “putrid” I mean it in both the “morally rotten; corrupt” sense as well as the more commonly intended olfactory sense of its definition.

Since I’m trying to keep this missive as short and succinct as possible, I would just like to state for the record that Scott Johnson and “Insurrection Barbie’ (whoever that is), as well as the editors at National Review, among others, both speak for me (here and here).

Sincerely,

David C. Norris

US Navy veteran (Submarine Service, nuclear machinist mate) and son of a retired USMC officer (two tours of Vietnam), both of whom were as overjoyed as one can possibly be at finally seeing the IRGC and mullahs of Iran receive the extensive military ass-kicking it so richly deserved, albeit 46 years late and notwithstanding all the bitching and moaning over it by the likes of Carlson and his fellow intellectually dishonest travelers (Candace Owens et al.).

P.S. As Park MacDougald of Tablet Magazine stated so eloquently in yesterday’s edition of The Scroll newsletter, “Bad actors who serve someone else’s agenda? Venomous coalition? **** you too, Kevin.”

P.P.S. “Fellow Conservative,” my ass…you are nothing of the sort and I want nothing more to do with your type.
