¡Adios!

From the New York Post,

US could see first population decline ever in 2025 as international migration plummets.

It’s not so much that international immigration is falling off so much as it’s the case international immigration is reversing. People are leaving, they are not coming.

Net international migration to the US in 2025 could drop to as low as negative 525,000 this year, according to an analysis by the American Enterprise Institute. With a net of 519,000 births reported by the US Census last year, the US could possibly lose 6,000 people — the first population decline in nearly 250 years of American history.

From what I’ve seen elsewhere, those figures are understated. It’s likely the number of net departures has already exceeded 1 million.

The Post views these figures as “alarming.” I do not. Millions of illegal immigrants poured over the border during the Biden years. So far, the recent exodus has only returned us to the status quo ante of 2023. That the nation’s overall population will appear to shrink in 2025 and 2026 is merely a reversal of the artificial population gains of the past four years.

Paul Ehrlich, Bill Gates and all the other “population bomb” doomsters are finally getting exactly what they’ve always wanted, population declines, and suddenly, it’s a bad thing.
