Alex Scott has urgently left Australia following her elimination from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday evening after receiving heartbreaking family news.
The broadcaster and former footballer, 41, flew back to the UK to support her partner, singer Jess Glynne, whose mother recently suffered a major stroke requiring emergency brain surgery.
“I want to be there for the wrap party but I need to get home straight away,” Ms Scott explained.
Hours after her jungle exit, Ms Glynne took to Instagram to explain her absence from the traditional bridge reunion where partners typically greet eliminated contestants.
“I know people will wonder why I wasn’t there at the end of the bridge, so I wanted to share something personal,” the Hold My Hand singer wrote.
“Over the last few weeks, my mum suffered a major stroke and needed urgent brain surgery.”
The 36-year-old artist, who has been in a relationship with Scott since 2023, revealed the severity of the situation.
“It’s been a really serious, life-altering time for my family, and I’ve had to stay close to home,” Ms Glynne continued in her statement.

Ms Scott nearly withdrew from the reality programme before filming began, wrestling with the decision whilst her partner’s mother’s health deteriorated.
“Oh, yeah, absolutely, 100 per cent,” Scott confirmed when asked whether she contemplated pulling out of the show.
“But Jess was the one that wanted me to do this, so that’s why I wanted to go in and still make her proud,” she told The Sunday Mirror.
Throughout her jungle experience, the former Lioness said she found the communication blackout particularly challenging as she was unable to check on Ms Glynne or her mother’s condition daily.

“I found that really tough in the jungle, not being able to speak to Jess every day and just check in and see what’s going on, and how she was doing,” she revealed.
“When we did speak, it was an emotional moment.”Upon exiting the jungle, Ms Scott revealed she was immediately concerned about her partner’s absence.
“My first thought when I didn’t see Jess on the bridge was that I needed to FaceTime and speak to her,” Ms Scott admitted.
“My campmates knew what I was going through and I just want to thank everyone at ITV and my campmates because they’ve all shown me so much support,” she said.
Her exit meant she broke with a long-standing I’m a Celeb tradition where evicted contestants remain at a hotel until the programme concludes to attend the customary wrap party.
The broadcaster became the first campmate voted off after receiving the fewest public votes, ending her 14-day stint in the jungle.
During her time on the show, Ms Scott shared a touching reflection on her relationship with her pop star partner.
“I think before her, I never knew happiness,” she reflected.
