Admiral Cooper does not include among his highlights the Disassembly of Experts that might have been achieved by the Israeli Air Force earlier yesterday. The IDF struck the Assembly of Experts building in Qom, south of Teharn, where the austere religious scholars were said to have gathered to chooose Iran’s new supreme leader. They did not send up the puff of smoke to indicate the election of a new supreme leader. They might have been part of it.

However, according to the Times of Israel story, it may be the case that only clerks counting the votes for the appointment of formerly supreme leader’s successor were there at the time. Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that strikes had already targeted the main headquarters of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Monday.
The formerly supreme leader’s son Mojtaba is reportedly the new supreme leader. We hear he’s having trouble procuring life insurance.
