Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s one last ‘passport’ into the Royal Family | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s daughters are his “only passport” into the Royal Family following his humiliating exile, a royal expert has claimed. The disgraced former Duke of York has found himself with no titles and honours after the King axed them following the continuously growing details regarding his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has also agreed to leave his home of nearly 20 years, Royal Lodge in Windsor, with the move expected to take place sometime early this year. The King’s brother was banished from the royal celebrations at Sandringham this year and was pictured driving his car solo in Windsor, while the rest of the royals spent Christmas Day in Norfolk.

However, his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, made a U-turn and joined the rest of the royals at Sandringham, despite reports questioning whether they would at all.

Now, a royal expert has claimed that the princesses’ father would have probably wanted them to go, as they allegedly are his only way into what is happening with the royals.

Royal commentator and author Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “I don’t think Beatrice and Eugenie had a choice. Andrew said to them, you have to go.

“Because he wants to keep a foot in. A, he wants to know what’s going on. B, he’d want to know what people were saying about him.

“And he’s always said that, and Fergie has said, ‘the girls are my passport’.

“They are Andrew’s only passport into the royal family now. And I’m absolutely sure that he persuaded them.

Royal expert Charlie Rae agreed, saying the disgraced former prince wants to “keep an eye on what’s going on”.

He added: “He’s not invited, so he’s not at the table any more,” he continued.

“So one of the first things that would have happened when they got back would be Andrew would be on the phone saying, right, who said what?”

Andrew is expected to move into a smaller property within the King’s Sandringham Estate, with some reports claiming the move will take place by Easter.

He has always denied any wrongdoing.
