Another Funeral | Power Line

Murders are following upon each other so rapidly that it is easy to forget them. Conservatives were horrified by the slaughter of Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte train, but the murder of Charlie Kirk came so soon after that some fear Zarutska, and the liberal ethos that led to her death, will be forgotten.

If we go back another week or two, we come to a third horror that briefly dominated the headlines but now is absent from them, except locally: Robin Westman’s attack on Annunciation School in Minneapolis. We are reminded of that crime by the funeral for a ten-year-old victim that was held yesterday.

Hundreds of people gathered this afternoon in Minneapolis for the memorial of Harper Moyski, the 10-year-old girl killed in the Aug. 27 shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church.

Green and blue ribbons fluttered from the arms of benches at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, a quiet show of remembrance. Many of those gathered wore the same Annunciation T-shirts worn last week at the funeral of Fletcher Merkel, also killed in the attack.

Fletcher was eight.

Robin Westman, born Robert, was one more in an increasingly long line of “trans” murderers and, especially, mass murderers. He was motivated, apparently, by a deep hatred of Christianity and especially Catholicism, as well as hatred of Republicans as manifested by the words “Kill Donald Trump” on one of his ammunition magazines.

Tyler Robinson, who killed Charlie Kirk, seems to have been motivated more by a hatred of conservatives than a hatred of religion. But here, too, there reportedly is a “trans” angle, as Robinson’s roommate/lover is said to have been in the midst of transitioning to being a woman.

Mental illness was no doubt a factor in all three of these murders, but in different ways. Decarlos Brown had no apparent motive for killing Iryna Zarutska, but he was a violent criminal who would not have been on the streets but for the Democrats’ pro-crime policies.

Westman and Robinson are different cases. While no doubt disturbed, neither had a criminal history. Rather than being habitual criminals, they were activated by ideologies–ideologies peddled by the Democratic Party. Hatred of religion, hatred of America, hatred of conservatives, hatred of Republicans, hatred of normal people–these ideas are nurtured and encouraged by Democratic politicians, journalists, pundits and activists. The Democrats who peddle these messages of hate know that most people who respond to them positively will do little more than vote for Democrats.

But they also know, and intend, that some damaged personalities will respond differently. People like James Hodgkinson, John Roske, Audrey Hale, Thomas Crooks, Ryan Routh, Luigi Mangione, Robin Westman and Tyler Robinson will respond to the Democrats’ dog whistles by killing, or trying to kill, Republicans, conservatives, or religious people. Normals, in other words.

This brief post sums it up well:

Also this:

I don’t think there is any possibility of the Democratic Party reforming itself. I think it can only be denounced, shamed, and trounced at the polls.
