A mob of protesters turned out in South Minneapolis this morning to harass law enforcement. Someone wound up getting shot and, reportedly, killed. So far there is little information on what happened. The person who was shot was armed, but whether he was trying to murder a police officer is not yet clear.

This video shows several law enforcement personnel wrestling with the perpetrator, and ultimately one of them shoots him. You can’t see what happened before that, but I take it the perp was threatening agents with a pistol:

Governor Walz took to X within an hour of the shooting to describe it as “another horrific shooting” by “untrained officers.” Such a statement is utterly irresponsible at this early stage.
