On Thursday, ICE went to Worcester, Massachusetts, to arrest Ferreira de Oliveira. They said she had been arrested by the local police for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on a pregnant victim. She allegedly entered the country illegally in 2022.
However, ICE faced a chaotic situation as they tried to take her away, when about 25 people attempted to stop them. They called the local police because they were surrounded. The police said that when they arrived, “several people” were putting their hands on the federal agents.
You can see in the following video how people are trying to block the car from taking the woman away. At one point, her daughter stood in front of the car with a baby to try to stop the agents.
That’s just disgusting to put the baby in that situation. The police told her to stop that — she was endangering the baby. She gave the baby to someone else. She then allegedly kicked a police car and was arrested.
Warning for graphic language:
You can then see arrests happening here.
The girl faced multiple counts, including reckless endangerment of a child. Another woman, Ashley Spring, was also arrested. She allegedly pushed officers. She’s running for the Worcester school board.
Both DHS and the local police blasted District 5 City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj. The Worcester police union said that Haxhiaj helped to incite the crowd against them.
“Etel Haxhiaj incited aggression towards the police during the incident. This councilor participated in the conduct of the unruly crowd and eventually assaulted both Worcester police and federal law enforcement officers on scene,” the union said in a statement. “Her behavior also emboldened others to act in this manner.
“Councilor Haxhiaj, in our opinion, broke her oath and these ethical laws, and in doing so, put the safety of our officers and our citizens at great risk.”
The statement called for the city to conduct an ethics investigation and for federal authorities to take action against Haxhiaj.
They said she not only physically interfered, but she also tried to use her official position to interfere.
DHS termed Haxhiaj’s actions a “political stunt” that incited chaos to obstruct an arrest.
Such alleged interference was just disgraceful behavior, making things worse and endangering more people. It is not acceptable for any elected official to interfere in an arrest, particularly when they are supposed to be upholding the law.
Here’s what she said in response to Border Czar Tom Homan’s trip to Boston in February.

We also saw Democrats causing chaos at the ICE facility in Newark this week. You even had a member of Congress allegedly assaulting a federal officer, as well as throwing her title around and threatening that you “will pay.”

Police in Worcester said there might be more charges coming, but this kind of behavior needs to be condemned and has to stop.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
