Gov. Tim Walz made a big false claim on Sunday, claiming that the riots in the wake of the Border Patrol shooting of Alex Pretti were actually peaceful protests. Well, if you didn’t count the throwing things at law enforcement, the graffiti, and a rioter biting off part of a federal agent’s finger, everything was just hunky dory.
He wasn’t exactly working with the truth. He claimed it was ICE who shot Pretti, and he compared ICE picking up people to Anne Frank.
But even on the same day Walz was trying to defend them as peaceful, they then went on to wreak destruction on a hotel they thought had ICE staying at, a Home2Suites hotel in Minneapolis.
They blocked off the street with debris, including pallets and even a mattress. They broke the front windows and sprayed graffiti on everything.

They even broke through the front doors, trashing the lobby and tussling with the security that was there.

One federal agent was clearly injured; he had a bloody hand. It’s not clear how he was injured.

There was one MPD cop in the lobby; he had worked with hotel security to try to keep them out. For more than an hour, there were no other local cops, despite the destruction.
They even trashed vehicles they apparently thought were related to ICE in the parking lot.

Finally, the local police showed up and got the location under control. They announced it was the Minneapolis Police Department and that all the agitators were under arrest.

They managed to secure the location, but that’s not protesting.
It’s harassment, stalking, assault, property damage, and a variety of other things.
It’s ridiculous that it took so long for the police to show up. They simply are not enforcing the law as they should to protect the people, including all the people in the hotel who have a right to expect peace while there.
That’s on their Democratic leaders, who have made it clear they’re on the side of the crazies and the illegal aliens.
