THE next Archdeacon of Maidstone, in Canterbury diocese, is to be the Revd Estella Last, Vicar of the Bridge Benefice since 2021, Hon. Canon of Canterbury Cathedral since 2023, and Area Dean of East Bridge since 2024. She took the South East Institute of Theological Education course and was ordained priest in 2015. She has served all her ministry in Canterbury diocese, in parishes, and as Bishop’s Adviser for Women’s Ministry. She takes up her new post in January, succeeding the Ven. Andrew Sewell, who retired in January (Gazette 15 November 2024). The Revd Sharon Copestake has served as Interim Archdeacon since then (Gazette, 14 February).
