Britons have been called to action in recent days following food and product recalls from major UK retailers.
Earlier this week, shoppers were warned that cheese sold in almost 300 UK stores could be harmful.
In a mass recall affecting several supermarkets, M&S, Tesco, Lidl, and more have pulled food from shelves over contamination fears.
And now, Asda has withdrawn specific George Ladies Double Buckle Flatbed Sandals from sale after discovering potentially harmful nickel content.
The retailer confirmed that lilac and sage-coloured versions contain metal trims with nickel concentrations that “exceed the permissible limits” established by REACH regulations.
Such elevated levels of the chemical compound pose health concerns, as the metal can trigger “adverse skin reactions”.

The contamination affects all sizes within these two colour variants. Asda assured shoppers that no other colours are impacted.
Customers who have purchased the affected sandals should return them to any Asda outlet for a full refund, with or without a receipt.
The supermarket chain has published extensive barcode listings to help shoppers identify whether their footwear falls within the recall parameters.
If you have purchased an affected bottle of Baba’s Sweet & Spicy Sauce, return it to your nearest Asda

Just last month, Asda issued an urgent warning after fermentation was discovered in some batches of Baba’s Sweet & Spicy Sauce.
The supermarket warned that this could create potentially dangerous pressure inside bottles, causing bottle caps to “come off with force” when opened, or for entire bottles to shatter.
Asda asked customers to return the sauce to their nearest store for a full refund.
The supermarket recall affects sauce bottles with a best-before date of June 2026, with specific batch codes identified as problematic.
