Barron Trump ‘takes voice lessons’ as he ‘wants to sound more American | World | News

Barron Trump, the son of Donald Trump, is reportedly taking lessons to change his Slovenian accent to become more confident. Barron, 19, has been quietly trying to modify his accent to “sound more like his American peers”, according to celebrity journalist Rob Shuter. According to the Daily Mail, Shuter reportedly spoke with anonymous White House insiders.

He said: “Barron is very focused on how he presents himself now.” The source also added that the young adult also “wants to be confident when he speaks”.

Barron appeared in a viral video of when he was four years old, showing him speaking English with a strong Slovenian accent. He was reportedly primarily raised by Melania and her parents, Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, meaning he adopted a similar accent to theirs.

He was more prominent during President Trump’s most recent campaign in 2024, though he remains more reserved than his older siblings, particularly Donald Jr and Eric. The Daily Mail also analysed multiple videos with the president’s son over the years, revealing how his voice has evolved.

During his father’s first presidency, the youngest son largely remained out of the public spotlight. His mother, Melania – who was born in Slovenia – has been highly protective of his privacy.

Last month, she was reportedly angered after a MAGA-aligned influencer revealed details of a private conversation with Barron on a widely followed podcast. She is also said to have warned influencers who photographed him at Mar-a-Lago over the Christmas period that they could be removed from the club.

The reason for his efforts might be linked to his recent involvement in politics. Barron has been partially credited with helping Trump secure votes among young men by recommending his father engage with them through modern media formats, including podcasts such as the Joe Rogan Experience, which Trump appeared on in October 2024. Will Donahue, the president of the College Republicans of America, said in February that his organisation would welcome the president’s son into its leadership ranks.
