Bill and Hillary Clinton Just Got Slapped With Subpoenas for Testimony Regarding Jeffrey Epstein – RedState

The House Oversight Committee has issued subpoenas for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Bill Clinton, and a host of other high-profile Democrats seeking to compel testimony regarding Jeffrey Epstein.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) issued additional subpoenas to former Attorneys General Merrick Garland, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales, as well as former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller.

Fox News Digital reported the news, confirming that Comer also sent a subpoena to the Trump Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, for records related to the ongoing Epstein investigation.

The Clintons are scheduled for deposition in the first half of October, according to Comer’s X account. The DOJ has until August 19th to turn in the requested records.

The move comes just weeks after the House Oversight Committee voted to issue subpoenas for documents and testimony related to Epstein and his close confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Epstein, the late financier, was convicted of procuring for prostitution a girl below the age of 18 in 2008 and was facing sex trafficking charges until he died, according to authorities, by suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. Maxwell is currently serving 20 years in prison for her involvement in the late billionaire pedophile’s crimes.

Comer and the Committee’s actions will likely alleviate some of the pressure on the current attorney general, who has been grappling with damage control over a series of promises made in the Epstein case, which ultimately fell through.

Damage control in that regard also involved Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s announcement in late July that he would meet with Maxwell.

“President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence,” Blanche stated. “If Ghislane Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say.”

Reports surfaced shortly thereafter that Maxwell had been talking with DOJ investigators, answering questions regarding well over 100 individuals.

Maxwell was then transferred from a low-security federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, to a minimum-security prison camp in Bryan, Texas. While no reasons have been given for the move, some have speculated that it’s evidence that a deal is in the works regarding her own testimony.

Comer previously subpoenaed Maxwell, but agreed to delay her deposition until after the Supreme Court heard a petition to overturn her conviction.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has been very vocal that a pardon for Maxwell should be entirely off the table, calling her crimes “unspeakable” and surmising “she should have a life sentence at least.”

Comer’s letter to President Clinton references particular topics that will likely come up in his deposition:

By your own admission, you flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane four separate times in 2002 and 2003. During one of these trips, you were even pictured receiving a “massage” from one of Mr. Epstein’s victims. It has also been claimed that you pressured Vanity Fair not to publish sextrafficking allegations against your “good friend” Mr. Epstein, and there are conflicting reports about whether you ever visited Mr. Epstein’s island. You were also allegedly close to Ms. Ghislane Maxwell, an Epstein co-conspirator, and attended an intimate dinner with her in 2014, three years after public reports about her involvement in Mr. Epstein’s abuse of minors.

“Given your past relationships with Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell, the Committee believes that you have information regarding their activities that is relevant to the Committee’s investigation,” Comer writes.

The Clintons’ testimony will perhaps be the most compelling, considering the former president has dodged accusations of being close to Epstein for years. Following Epstein’s arrest in 2019, Clinton spokesperson Angel Ureña tweeted a statement in which the former president admitted to taking a “total of four trips” on the billionaire’s private plane.

In addition to the four admitted trips, Clinton traveled on Epstein’s private jet – the “Lolita Express” – 26 separate times, according to a Fox News analysis. Other analyses of flight logs led to claims of fewer trips.

Doug Band, a former top aide to Clinton, made shocking allegations in a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair, including claims that the former president took a trip in 2003 to Epstein’s famed private island.

Epstein made at least 17 visits to the White House, according to presidential logs.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Democrats who have suddenly developed an interest in the sex-trafficking case, making a mockery of their claims that the Trump administration is not being transparent when it comes to Epstein.

“Democrats have now seized on this as if they ever wanted transparency when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, which is an asinine suggestion for any Democrat to make,” she said.

“The Democrats had control of this building, the White House, for four years, and they didn’t do a dang thing when it came to transparency in regards to Jeffrey Epstein and his heinous crimes.”
