Trump’s immigration crackdown intensifies: Border Patrol sending agents and armored vehicles to Charlotte and New Orleans.
Resources are being redeployed from Chicago, after wrapping up the surge there. Both Charlotte and New Orleans are blue cities located in mostly red states. However, North Carolina has a Democratic governor.
The Daily Mail reports,
Two sources familiar with the plans told CBS that green-uniformed Border Patrol agents are expected in Charlotte in the coming days, where an operations hub is being established.

In a joint statement with other local officials on Saturday, Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles condemned the operation, saying it is only ‘causing unnecessary fear and uncertainty’ in the community.

Democratic North Carolina Governor Josh Stein urged residents ‘to remember our values,’ abide by the law and remain peaceful in a statement following news of the upcoming Charlotte operation.

You will recall the incident from April, where a Wisconsin state judge helped an illegal immigrant in her court escape ICE by slipping out the back door. He’s been deported (back to Mexico?) and she is facing federal criminal charges.
