A two-year-old boy has died and a man has been left seriously injured after a crash in Kent.
Police were called to the coastal town of Whitstable just before 8.25pm on Saturday, August 16.
A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene for causing death by dangerous driving.
Kent Police said on Sunday the suspect remained in custody while officers continue with their enquiries.
Witnesses of the collision at the junction of Harbour Street and Cromwell Road have been urged to get in touch with police.
“Investigators from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward,” a spokesman for the force said.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed it treated three people at the scene including a “young child”.
A spokesperson said: “We sent three ambulances and two Critical Care Paramedics to the scene.
“Our crews treated three patients at the scene – an adult male, an adult female and a young child.”
Canterbury City Council said in a post to social media: “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this heartbreaking news.”
