Brazil’s left-wing government is shamelessly criminalizing its political opponents

(LifeSiteNews) — A new report from Brazil shows how the liberal global system is openly resorting to criminalizing its opponents – and threatening the arrest of journalists who dare to help them speak out.

Online influencer Mario Nawfal has produced a new video report which shows how the crackdown on liberal-critical voices could see him locked up in prison if he dares to return to Brazil.

Speaking to the son of Jair Bolsonaro, former Brazilian president and a Trump ally, Nawfal’s report details the intensifying repression of regime-critical speech.

Nawfal’s revelations include the shocking fact that the Biden administration was funding the same Brazilian censorship regime which is now bringing criminal charges against Bolsonaro – for appearing on Nawfal’s space on X (formerly Twitter). Yet as Nawfal also notes, one man is standing up against Brazil’s “war on freedom” – Donald Trump.

Nawfal reports that Trump “sanctioned” Brazil for its treatment of Bolsonaro – but the Brazilian prosecutor responded by placing Bolsonaro “under house arrest with an ankle monitor.”

Nawfal adds that the former Brazilian president’s financial assets – and those of his wife “have just been frozen.”

In his interview with Bolsonaro’s son Eduardo, Nawfal is told that the Brazilian liberal state prosecutor, Alexandre de Moraes, is seeking to lock up the Bolsonaro family.

“Justice De Moraes wants to jail my father. He wants to jail me.”

This does not stop with the Bolsonaros. Anyone who gives them a voice is in danger of imprisonment, says Eduardo Bolsonaro – who faces over 20 years in jail.

“Mario, if you come to Brazil, you’ll be arrested at the airport,” Nawfal was told.

These severe measures show how totally the state has been corrupted by liberals who refuse to accept that their increasingly unpopularity is a result of their own insane policies. Instead, they blame anyone who points this fact out, framing people with popular politics like those of Trump and Bolsonaro as criminals and enemies of democracy.

The corruption of the state to these ends in Brazil reflects similar moves being made by the remnants of the liberal regime across the West. Canada pioneered the debanking and legal persecution of political protesters with the vicious pursuit of the Freedom Convoy. This practice has not gone away, with Canadians now at risk of losing access to their own money for saying things on the internet that liberals do not like.

Earlier this year, U.S. Vice President JD Vance excoriated European leaders, saying their policies of censorship made them the “enemy within” the West – and saying the repressive policies of the British government have placed British Christians “in the crosshairs” for praying silently:

Since then, unelected EU chief commissioner Ursula von der Leyen has pressed ahead with her “European Democracy Shield.” Announced in May 2024, this is an EU-wide censorship project.

This “democracy shield” would protect hundreds of millions of Europeans from ever reading anything negative about von der Leyen and the insane policies her liberal globalist friends inflict on their subject nations. This evil measure is promoted as a Good Thing by allied NGOs and think tanks, showing how the regime operates to create positive narratives for the negative effects produced by its own policies.

Outrage continues to grow in the British public against the “two tier” justice system, presided over by “Two Tier Keir” Starmer, the UK prime minister.

Long prison sentences have been handed down to British people for saying regime-critical things on X, or in the street – whilst regime allies can get away with calling for the murder of their political enemies in public.

The message from Nawfal’s report is that this is a technique now being used throughout the last remaining holdouts of the liberal regime. Fake narratives are created to criminalize political opponents. Anyone who complains about the insane and evil policies of the liberal global regime can have their life ruined. Even a former president, or members of his family.

This is a form of organized political warfare. As Nawfal’s report shows, it means that the state has mobilized everything in its power to demonize and destroy any realistic opposition.

It has been pointed out that if you make peaceful means impossible, you make conflict inevitable. Openly destroying democracy is a dangerous game. It shows the world and the people you govern that you have no right to rule them – because you are so hated you have had to corrupt the state entirely to hold on to power.

As Elon Musk – who often shares Nawfal’s content – said this week, “Any government driving destruction of its own people is not legitimate.”

Musk has described the Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes as a “tyrant” – and the left-wing President Lula as “his lapdog.”

X was withdrawn from Brazil following state censorship demands from the Lula government, driven by the same prosecutor now legally persecuting Jair Bolsonaro and his family.

Moraes has “refused to bend” under “pressure from President Trump,” according to the Washington Post, whose report of August 18 noted: “Alexandre de Moraes says he’s preserving Brazilian democracy. The White House says he’s destroying it.”

Elon Musk has his critics – of course – but it is undeniable that his purchase of Twitter has preserved speech in an increasingly hostile environment. If he had not bought this platform we would likely never have heard about the liberal repression in Brazil – and there would be no need for a “European Democracy Shield” to defend Europeans from the truth about the rotten system which rules them.

Big digital media platforms like Facebook and Google work hand-in-glove with liberal regimes to suppress speech. Cooperation with this regime brings immunity from prosecution for real crimes – as Musk also noted in the case of Meta owner Mark “Zuck” Zuckerberg:

In the corrupted politics and media space of this dying regime, Nawfal’s report is an eye-opening insight not only to the state of Brazil – but into the techniques of repression and control which have been refined over a century to secure the power of the liberal global system.

Though the news from Brazil is grim, that we can see it at all is a strong sign that the total control of our information by the liberal global regime is over. How long can governments like those in Brazil, as in Britain and in Europe, hold on to power by corrupting the state entirely? We live in a time when the hard limits of the possible have brought an end to an empire built on diabolical fantasies.

Reality is making the argument now, and the reality about the remaining liberal governments is that they are openly resorting to tyranny – in the name of the defense of democracy.
